MAKE Your House a Home on a Dime Series

MAKE your house a home Graphic

When we bought our house we were estimated a certain dollar amount in closing costs.  The reality is that it took about 4 weeks longer to close and our closing costs were more than double what we were originally quoted.  This means we were expected to bring more than double the cash we had anticapated to the table in order to buy our house.  This also meant our beautiful nest egg we had saved for “making our house a home” went bye-bye.  Especially since we spent the little remainder of what was left on animals that we had been dreaming of having for our kids for years, literally the day after we closed.

With all that back story being said, I have a new series that I would like to bring to you:

MAKE Your House A Home – On A DIME!

This is No joke. I am going to share with you all the little ways that I have made and am making our new house a home with as little money as possible.

Half of what will be shared will be handmade ideas that are very cost effective.  The other half are going to be some of the smoking deals I find in order to purchase all of those little things you need for your house, for it to feel that you and your family are living comfortably, as well as friends and family who come to visit or maybe even stay the night.

I am not sponsored by anybody or anyone so all that you see here is 100% what I have found to be cost effective ways to do what I need to do and what I WANT to do.  Because a lot of house furnishings are wants, not needs, but we want to be cozy and to like where we live, right?

And really, making a handmade home is VERY expensive.  It is not cost effective to make things yourself anymore, but sometimes it still is.  And I want to share those things with you.  And there should be no shame in wanting to hunt for a bargain and to feel like you are winning at life with a steal of a deal.

So come along, this series will run the duration of my website.  Because I am always on the hunt for a good deal, and ways to cut costs.
