June 2019 TBR Graphic

Do you like reading in the Summer? or are you more of a Fall Reader?  I am an all year round type of reader…though some months I read nothing and others I binge.  This month I just want to read steadily all month long.  I think I have a good variety to where I can read moderately all month.  Let’s see!

1&2. I read the Shadow and Bone Trilogy by Leigh Bardugo in April and it was fantastic.  I have a love affair with YA Fantasy.  I also realized there were a lot of things borrowed from this trilogy and used in Children of Blood and Bone by Toni Adeyemi.  I’m just sayin’.  I cannot wait to continue on in the Grishaverse with Leigh Bardugo’s Six of Crows Duology.  I am planning to read both books: Six of Crows and Crooked Kingdom.

3. In April I also read The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller and plan on reading her newest book, Circe.  I have to say I was not a fan of her retelling of Achilles at all, but Circe does sound promising and I am very eager to read it.

4. Next in line,  I checked out Tana French’s The Witch Elm from the library.   I have never read anything by this author before, but have heard a lot of good things so I figured a book with the word Witch in the title might be a good introduction to this author’s work for me.

5. Lastly, I just bought the only Ruth Ware book I have not read yet, The Lying Game.   I picked up a paperback edition from my thrift store for 50 cents.  I like to have a wild card book in my TBR and this is the wild card of the month.  It may or may not be read, but it is on my mind nonetheless!

I only have 4 maybe 5 books on my TBR this month, however these are longer books and I have a lot of content I would like to bring you guys this month as well.  I can’t spend all my time reading 😉

Have you read these books?  What were your thoughts?
