A Ghost and Her Lolly Pop Free Cross Stitch Pattern
I sat down to draw and paint with my children one night in June and thus four pastel-colored Halloween paintings were made as sketches intended for future cross-stitch patterns. I have named the collection of four ghost brainstorm paintings the Ghostly Quartet. They are simple and cartoon-like and are so fun and different from the normal gothic and primitive Halloween aesthetic I normally gravitate towards. I thought it would be fun to add pastel and feminine-colored Halloween cross stitch charts in with my love for modern art and typography.

I will be cross stitching A Ghost and Her Lolly Pop Free Cross Stitch Pattern on 14 count Aida that I lightly dyed with Sunshine Orange RIT Dye.
The called for DMC threads for this project are 310 3609, 3608, and 153. I will be working my project 2 threads over 2 on the 14 count Aida. I also have some 14 count Aida that I have dyed pink with the RIT color Rose Quartz for the next free cross stitch pattern release.
I absolutely love decorating for Halloween and I do think Halloween is my favorite holiday to design and make handmade items for. I have made quite a few items including primitive pumpkins, crochet candy corn, a sunflower crochet blanket, and even a Beetlejuice Inspired Granny Square Blanket.
I think the pastel colors will be an interesting and fun pop of color to my decor this year and I think will be very modern and fun to maybe even incentivize people to cross stitch items for their home who may not normally think to decorate with the craft that is cross stitch. I am interested in crocheting some jewel-toned pumpkins in velvety yarn as well as pastel-colored pumpkins in velvety yarn to match these cross-stitch patterns.
I think it is fun to style pockets of your home in different ways. I admire the women who are able to stick with one aesthetic throughout their home. It is very cohesive, however, I find I love so many things and are drawn to so many ways to express myself. I have settled in the idea of decorating room to room, each giving their own cohesion. It may seem a little bit Like Molly Weasley’s home, but I rather admired all her beautiful hobbies on full display.
