How to Tea Dye Your Embroidery Fabric for A Primitive Look and How to Embroider With A Free Clip Art Image

Pumpkin Embroidery Main Image

I love decorating for the seasons, especially FALL! However when I went to pull all my decor out for Fall this year I realized that most other years I decorate for Halloween really early and that was not wanted I wanted to do this year.  I wanted September to be just Fall decor and October to be for Halloween.  In previous years I decorated really early and I found I was over it before the holiday even arrived and was ready to move onto the next thing.

All that to say that is how this project was created.  I don’t live near a decor store anymore and didn’t want to spend much money on new stuff so I thought what can I make for free?

I had all the supplies I needed for this project already in stash and my guess is that you will too.  However, if you do need to purchase something for this project, the cost of supplies is really low.

I walk through the steps to create your embroidered pillow using free clip art online and how to tea stain or tea dye it in my newest Youtube video. which I have embedded down below.

Supplies Used:

For Fabric I used Muslin backed with Warm and Natural Batting. Fabric used for the pillow backing is a Homespun fabric from stash.

DMC used is Green 936 & Orange 434.

Tea Dye: Lipton – 3 bags

Polyfil for stuffing

I used a Clip Art Image from www.TheSpruceCrafts.com
