Better Homes and Gardens Folding Ironing Board

Advertisements

Yesterday I ironed fusible interfacing, glue side down, onto my ironing mat.  And not just a little bit.  I glued the entire 10″ x 11″ sucker down onto my mat.  I did this dangerous thing called multitasking and I know better than to do that because I do things like glue things to ironing boards.

And if you are asking yourself, what the heck was I ironing on and why?  Well, I like to sew on a craft table in my living room where I am out of the way but right in the middle of things if my kids need me.  Because of this, I have found that a fully set up ironing board is a severe hazard for my kids who could not care less that I have an iron.  So, I was using an ironing mat that is supposed to allow you to iron on top of your washer or dryer.  It worked pretty well for almost 2 years until I started multitasking.

So with a deadline of bags I would like to get in my shop for Small Business Saturday I went straight to Wal Mart.  Wal Mart had a mini ironing board, no mats, a full size ironing board which was not in the cards, and then folding ironing board.

So I said to myself, “Self.  This could be awesome. Let’s try it.”  It was about $12.97 I think and it works so well and is so easy to assemble and disassemble.  I am so glad I glued that interfacing down because this folding ironing board is so rad.  I am so happy to have it.

I use it just like this, with no legs on my table right next to me.  You can easily pull a pin lever underneath and fold it in half on the seam but I don’t need it that compact.   I just like that I can have board ready to go on my table.  So I sew my zipper and then move over and iron my seams.  it allows me to stay tucked into the wall and keep my iron in that corner you see there.

I highly recommend this to you if you are in the ball park for a small sewing space solution!!!!
