This pattern is quick and easy and really beginner friendly. If you have a lot of cotton yarn laying around, I recommend you whip some of these dishcloths or washcloths up and save them for a easy and budget friendly gift or for yourself to give your home a handmade touch. Also, I made this pattern specifically to fit the dimensions of my knit dishcloths using Grandma’s Favorite Dishcloth Pattern, working to 45 stitches so my dishcloths would all be the same size.
Materials Needed:
- Worsted Weight Cotton Yarn
- Yarn in Pattern: I Love This Cotton! in colorway #220 Spunky
- Crochet Hook: H/5.00mm
Dimensions :
- 7.5” W X 7” H
Abbreviations:
- Ch: Chain
- ST: Stitch
- SC: Single Crochet
- DC: Double Crochet
Instructions:
— To Begin: CH 28
— Row 1: Insert hook into 2nd Chain from hook, make 1 SC and 1 DC. *Skip first ST, in 2nd ST make 1 SC and 1 DC. Repeat from * all the way across, ending with 1 SC and 1 DC in last ST. CH 1 and turn your work.
— Row 2: *Skip 1st ST, 1 SC and 1 DC in next stitch, Repeat from * all the way across, ending with 1 SC and 1 DC in last ST. CH 1 and turn your work.
— Rows 3-22: Repeat Row 2.
When finished, tie off yarn and weave in ends. Blocking is optional but not necessary.
